Henry was born on February 22, 1857 in a Jewish family of a lawyer, who later became a senator. The guy studied perfectly, loved all subjects and wrote poetry.

In 1875 he graduated from high school, and entered the Dresden, and then to the Munich Technical Higher School. But deciding to follow the path of exact sciences, he enters the University of Berlin. In this educational institution, he spent all day in physical laboratories. After the summer holidays, he returned to university in 1879 and worked on the work “On induction in rotating bodies,” which was a doctoral dissertation. Hertz quickly completed the study, despite the fact that the work was designed for a minimum of three months. Having successfully defended his work, he received a doctorate.

Hertz in the period from 1883 to 1885 headed the Department of Theoretical Physics in Kiel. Since there was no laboratory, he dealt with theoretical issues. The scientist has adjusted the system of the equation of the electrodynamics of Neumann.

In 1885, Heinrich Hertz received an invitation from a technical school in Karlsruhe. Having accepted it, he conducts here the famous experiments, exploring the distribution of electric force. Having discovered several induction coils in the physics office, he conducted lecture demonstrations with them. It was here that Hertz discovered that with the help of coils it is possible to obtain electric fast oscillations. As a result, he created a high-frequency generator — a source of high-frequency oscillations and a resistor that received these oscillations.

Without stopping to conduct numerous experiments, Henry comes to the conclusion that there are electromagnetic waves that propagate at a finite speed. Research in this area is set out in his work "On the rays of electric force" in 1888. Thus, he was the first to detect electromagnetic waves.

Through his hard work and constant experiments, the scientist's health deteriorated. At first, Hertz's eyes refused, then the disease swept his ears, nose and teeth. At age 36, blood poisoning developed, from which he died.
